Healthy Mindset Books Jen Sincero’s You Are a BadassDo you need a mental makeover? The truth is that the majority of us do. I’m a fairly upbeat person, but I can be harsh on myself. You Are a Badass encouraged me to let go of some of my negative self-talk and instead focus on my strengths. There is wisdom about money, relationships, and self-improvement, all of which we can improve our mindsets about. Jen’s approach to these topics is relatable, and her sense of humor reminds me not to take myself too seriously. Gretchen Rubin’s Better Than BeforeThis is one of my favorite books of the year, and I finished it in January. Change and how we form new habits are central to Better Than Before. This book is for you if you’ve ever wondered why you struggle to form new habits or why you procrastinate. Gretchen describes our ability to change our behavior as being based on four tendencies: upholding, questioning, rebelling, or obliging. Better Than Before is ideal for anyone who is interested in personality types and how they influence behavior. Greg McKeown’s EssentialismThis book completely transformed my productivity game and decision-making process. The idea behind Essentialism is that we don’t need to accomplish more. We just need to do the right things. This book challenged me to consider what truly deserves my time and attention, as well as how to gracefully let go of everything else. If you want to become a more decisive person, this is a book you should add to your library. This book contains one of my favorite quotes of all time: “If it isn’t a clear yes, then it is a clear no.” Patricia Collard’s The Little Book of MindfulnessThis is a wonderful little book to help you cultivate more mindfulness in your life. There are numerous practical practices to follow whether you are a beginner or an expert in mindfulness. It’s one of those books you can pick up and read whenever you need to take a break. If you need more mental clarity in your hectic life, The Little Book of Mindfulness provides quick and easy solutions. Jack Canfield’s Success PrinciplesEvery year, I re-read this book because it always teaches me something new. This book will get you from where you are to where you want to go. It teaches you how to boost your self-esteem, deal with daily challenges, and get started on your life goals. I also wrote about how I used the principles in this book to create my own vision for the future. |
